Default 1st time!!!! Visiting KNOXVILLE, TN

Hello, there are 5 of us, asian guys, who are going to stay here at knoxville for 4 months(were on training). And we would like to visit/experience fun that knoxville offers, like REAL Spectacular views/parks.

Weve been to pigeon forge GREAT shopping experience on your OUTLET stores!!

Havent been to Gatlin though...

We would appreciate detailed descriptions of what really can be found on those places, since commercial websites dont tell all. So as not to waste gas

Weve been on downtown,(not all of downtown) but only found deserted parks and lonely streets.

Im sure theres more of what Knox would offer. We Would appreciate your advise.
And we are on extreme budget

p.s. were staying near cedarbluff and kingston pike

Downtown can be lively and fun, particularly at night. Grab a copy of Metro Pulse. It's free. You'll find listings for all the stuff that's going on, particularly downtown.
Hit Sundown in the City on Thursday nights.

First Friday's are good nights to go downtown. Lots of action.
Market Square District Association
Rossini Festival is an Italian Street Fair downtown.

Earthfest is this weekend.

Take a short trip outside of Knoxville along 11W to see some of the rural areas around here. Take I-40 to Rutledge Pike/Zoo Exit, if you can. Not sure if construction will cut off that route. If it does, you can take I-40 to 640 and when it reconnects to I-40, head back to Knoxville and pick up Rutledge Pike that way. Make sure you get off on 11W, NOT 11E and that you head East on 11W.
After a couple of miles of industrial stuff, you'll head through fields and farm country. Follow the signs to House Mountain for some great views and spectacular rock climbing.

If you continue on to Rutledge, you'll see a pretty town and the home of the Grainger County Tomato Festival, a fun event in July.

All of this is within 30 miles or less from West Knoxville.
If you're music fans, it might be worth it to travel to Bonnaroo

Thanks for the link to Earthfest. I'm going to Rossini today and hope the rain lets up.
