Yes absolutely be aware of scam artists. If you are going to have your ducts cleaned be prepared to pay around 20 dollars a duct for a proper cleaning. The average 1800 square foot house is gonna cost around $300-$350 dollars to have cleaned. Stay away from ads that offer the service for $79 cause that's just to get them in the door. I run a legit air duct cleaning service and it is a much needed service ecspecially when you have dust 2 and 1/2 inches thick show up on your camera system. Now generally most ducts are not that bad but some are. and if you run a legit business and a system does not need cleaned you'll tell the customer they do not need your service, and then when they do need it they'll remember the honest guy.

Hey ductman, I have a duct that is not getting air to a room. It is connected... I have no idea what is wrong with it, but before I rent out the house, I have to have air conditioning getting to that room - do I call you (a duct cleaning person) or another trade?
