Went up to Knoxville today. But did not do the whole tour, besides daylight, just got tires of cruising around.

We looked at the west end along Kingston Pike towards the university. We looked at several apartments along there and seems many are just beyond our price range, but with fuel savings as compared to what I drive now, it is not far enough off to be of a great concerned, will depend on how quickly can find work.

Some that stood out were right off Cedar rd, like "Fox Lake" and a couple "Cedar Bluff?" areas, maybe more around the Cedar rd area.

We also like "The Willows" and "Briarcliff", also a few others I can't remember off the top of my head or decipher my notes.

Nice area, seems a whole lot more alive than Cleveland ever dreamed of being.

We went around UTK and then crossed the river, different world, we crossed back over, also go to far east and well, not so desirable I guess I should say.

The prices in the areas are a bit much though, I guess I should expect that for being in the west part as everyong has mentioned before. But it seems a really good spot to live.

Will check out the surrounding towns tomorrow.

Thanks.

I know! I honestly don't know how I took all those pics of Fountain City but forgot Litton's. Or the Oriental garden on Garden Drive.

I know Sequoyah Hills has beautiful drives, but it's hard to imagine more beautiful neighborhoods in the springtime than the ones in Fountain City along the Dogwood Trails.

And end the drive with a big ol' slab of Litton's red velvet cake...

I really hope you'll check out Fountain City. I drove around there this afternoon and saw some really nice neighborhoods with apartment buildings. No big complexes, but lots of small ones. Check out Jacksboro Pike, Essary and Rennoc roads. Larger apartment complexes (and hopefully less expensive than the ones in posh West Knox) are along Cedar Drive between Fountain City and I-75.

Good luck!

Yes, going to fountain city tomorrow, we just sort of ran out of daylight today while driving around, got a late start.

You all been a big help, now I hope no one gets mad at me from expressing myself on the general TN forum about how much I hate the town I live in now! But just had to open up to someone!

Thank you.

Regarding jobs, I'm sure there are much more in Knoxville than the Cleveland area, but I really don't think the pay will be much better. Some people find jobs pretty quick, others it takes months. You have to make yourself stand out. Best of luck to you.

I have to ask. What's the deal with the Oriental garden? Is it owned by a private party? It's so cool!

I don't know why I didn't see your question sooner! Sorry about that.

Anyway, I think the Oriental garden is owned by the Montessori school a couple of doors down. I think. But it really is beautiful, isn't it?

I second what JMT said about nice complexes on Cedar Lane. But I don't think you'd be happy with windsor park.
