Shopping/eateries in or near Halls (Halls Crossroads)?
A few months ago, I purchased a 3.4 acre homesite just off of Pleasant Gap Dr., just minutes from Halls. Can anyone tell me what major shopping and good restaurants are close by? I currently live in Florida (yes, another Floridian coming to Knoxville! ), and I'm planning a trip up there soon. Any help is appreciated.

Just across Black Oak Ridge from Halls is Fountain City, home of Litton's Restaurant and their awesome hamburgers.
Fountain City also has a Ruby Tuesdays, Chop House, and several other restaurants.
The Amber is a pretty good meat & 3 veggie restaurant in Halls. There are also several other fast food places in Halls and a couple of other decent restaurants but their names escape me at the moment.

We've just had the pizza, but The Gondolier appears to be pretty decent.
It's right in Halls at the corner of Cunningham (I think) and 33 Hwy/Maynardville Hwy.

Knox County just passed the liquor by the drink referendum on the November ballot 2 weeks ago. Hopefully this will lead to the Halls community getting some decent restaurants. With the new Super-Wal Mart going in on Norris Freeway, I'm guessing this could be the approximate location of a chain restaurant for Halls such as a Ruby Tuesdays, Applebees, Fridays, or something similiar. Lets keep our fingers crossed. Until then, Gondolier and Kobe are the best available options.

Fountain City just got a sushi bar. As much as I hate to say it, you will probably find yourself going to west Knoxville occasionally for a larger selection of both restaurants and shopping. Downtown, however, has some unique restaurants as well.

For fresh seafood, there's no beating The Shrimp Dock on Crippin Rd. It's the only place in East Tennessee that will begin to compare with what you're used to in Florida. The store owner has a couple of trawlers down in the Gulf and flies his catch in to Knoxville daily.

Speaking of Amber's, I noticed it looked like the one in Fountain City had shut down when I drove by there last week. I used to eat at both locations years ago with my grandparents and I really loved the one in Ftn. City. Sad to see it go if it is closing for good. But hopefully, the Halls location is still open.

I doubt it. The cops are in there every morning when I go to work. They most certainly were open this week. They close early in the day. That must be what you saw.

You are correct, that building was just torn down to make room for a bank I believe. The one in Halls is still open however. Cash only.

I could not find this thread to update, so thank you. The cops were in there every morning until....I drove by on my way home from work and it was gone!
Do you know which bank? It is not a very big lot.
