How do you find out who owns a particular house? A house in our neighborhood has become kind of a crack-den, with people coming and going at all hours, prostitutes in and out, etc. The house is owned by the father of the man who lives there. However, the man who lives there is suffering from some pretty serious emotional disturbance in addition to all the drugs. He has been observed threatening people with hammers, walking around outside totally naked, and having loud bellowing arguments at all hours of the night. Since this is the case, it might be possible to get the man's family involved before he either kills someone, or someone kills him. The man might need to be institutionalized.

Go down to County Office of Records and you should be able to look-up the name and address where the tax bill is sent...
Any Realtor through a Title Company can also provide this information... but, I wouldn't count on it. I doubt the man's Father is unaware of his son's behavior and is probably glad that he's not dealing with it on a daily basis... Doesn't this sound like a job for law enforcement? The more complaints to the police from different neighbors should get action... you can also go to your elected official to prod reluctant law enforcement into action... |

You can look up the owner's name and contact info online. Just go to the knoxcounty.org website, click through to the property tax section and put in the street address. It will tell you who owns the property, when they bought it and all kinds of other things.
I agree with SMG about avoiding what could turn out to be a dangerous confrontation. Laws are being broken and neighborhood safety is at risk, so let the police assist you. It will be better for everyone, and they won't report who complained so you don't have to worry about retaliation. Good luck! |

Behavior that extreme would justify a call to 911.
