Rolling Hills Apartments in OAK RIDGE
Anyone ever lived here, knew anyone that lived here or know anything about these apartments?! How about those of you that live near them, do they look decent? Safe? In a good location?
We've checked them out online and I've been in contact quite a few times with one of the consultants and they seem great and what my husband and I are looking for. We're another Michigander relocating to East TN.
Thanks for your help

They are very ugly from the outside but could be nice on the inside. The grounds actuallly look okay (trees). It is a huge huge complex and the buildings are old. I skipped 'em after I saw what they look like from the outside, because they are right off the turnpike, too many people live there, the parking didn't look so hot and because when I was looking for a place to live, they did not have washer/dryer connections. Now, I heard they have since been remodeled on the inside but that's all I know. I notice the website still doesn't mention washer/dryer connections. If you think you might go there you need to ask if you park right in front of your building and if there are no washer/dryer connections, where you lug your laundry to, from your apartment. If you are looking for a modern apartment complex, that's not one.

Oh, I remember those apartments, now! I looked at them when we first rolled into the area. That was three years ago. If they have since been remodeled, things have probably changed.
I didn't think they were horrible on the outside, but they seem kind of prison-like on the inside and out. Nice consultants, though! It looked relatively safe. The washer and dryer connections were in the basement in the unit that I looked at. Everyone had their own washer and dryer that they had purchased. In that basement, there were storage areas for each unit that was surrounded by chicken wire.
This has probably changed, also, but that basement kind of creeped me out.

From the outside they look okay....a bit boxy and older. There are nice trees around them and they are right off the Turnpike....pretty much close to everything. We never actually went to see one, but we talked to a rep several times too when we were going to move down and they were super nice people there. We just were able to find something else instead. I haven't heard anything bad about them. I know none of this probably helps. haha
Good luck. We love it here in East TN (and Oak Ridge specifically). We are originally from Indiana....so not quite Michigan....but close.

Thanks everyone!
From what one of the consultants mentioned they have remodeled and the unit we're looking at, is an upper one and comes with a washer & dryer already in it! (YAY!) I think they look boxed in (I have seen a picture, but pictures sometimes make things look better than they actually are) I think because the porches/balcony's are completely fenced in, which we LOVED that idea. We have a 16 month old daughter and thats neat so she'd be able to be out there with us and I wouldn't freak out!
I'm excited for the move, there's NOTHING but negative here in Michigan. We have friends in Knoxville already and we'll probably have them tour one of the apartments for us, and take a video/pictures.
Thanks again... see 'yall' real soon! hehe

Will the apartment leasing agents take pictures for you?

Well, I've seen the ones from the site...but I was hoping someone that lived near by would snap some...no biggie though.
