Default Wartburg

Anyone on here in Wartburg? We are thinking of purchasing land for a future sustainable living hobby farm (30-60 acres) and was curious about the development there.

We're looking for somewhere that is away from the possibility of being developed for several years and where land is still somewhat inexpensive (3-5k per acre).

Wartburg, worked Morgan county for years, in my old job, and know it well. Morgan county , is probably sounding like what you want. My dad and his family, were there years ago, and believe it or not, I took dad back a couple of years ago, and even after being gone ,say for some 50 years, nothing had changed! Morgan county has two prisons, one Brushy Mtn , and Frozen Head, but that is accepted by all in Morgan county, and because of the rural area, not too much industry. It is located some 60 minutes from Knoxville, and is surrounded by Scott county to the north, Anderson, to south, Roane county to the west. Its only some 45 minutes into Oak Ridge, your closest decent city. Write me for more information, if you wish.

You may also want to pay attention to land around Lancing and Deer Lodge.

Much of the land in Morgan County can be rugged (straight up!). As the above poster noted, Oak Ridge is probably your major town for significant products/services.
