If beautiful homes and greenery are a big deal to you, then I'm surprised no one mentioned Holston Hills... my neighborhood.
In terms of trees and properties with larger than average space between homes, I would be interested in learning of any area that has similar features for the price.
I need to take some more pictures of Holston Hills and post them on my Flickr site.

I agree with you, Holston Hills is absolutely beautiful. You definitely get more bang for your buck there than in Sequoyah Hills.
However, the OP said they want a neighborhood with cafes and restaurants with outdoor seating, and there's not really anything like that anywhere near Holston Hills, unfortunately.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I have a couple of othere questions:
- when we talk about "West" Knoxville, is it only the 37919 zip code?
- how is the area on the other side of the river from Cherokee Country Club / Sequoyah Hills?
Thanks!~

I saw that Sequoyah Hill is great, but kind of pricey for us. What areas would you recommend (and perhaps what areas would you absolutely avoid)? Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Vecio, I'm a mom of 3, and would also recommend the west knox area, perhaps along northshore drive, where there are some areas of restaurants along with beautiful views of Lake Loudon. When it comes time for you to resell your home, west knox will be easier, although there are many nice areas in knoxville to live.

You may want to also check ou the Pleasant Ridge, Norwood area. The homes are exceptionally affordable here, and the clientel is 75% family oriented. The lots are nice, there are still trees to be had, many with good views. The school system is Karns. As far as bistros and coffee shops, you're just a hop away in your car from the old city and market street to downtown.

There are lots of homes for sale in Knoxville, right now, but there are soooo many in that area, and they are going for fantastic prices. I agree. The best deals in the area, right now.

Yabbut, the OP seems to be a bit more upper bracket. Lakemoor hills is what's across from Cherokee Country club, and it is indeed beautiful and worth checking out. Not much in the way of commercial services nearby except a grocery, drugstore, bank, Subway and a great health club with a humongous pool. If you're looking for a diversity of shopping westknox/bearden is the place to be.
