Dandridge & surrounding areas - need specifics
The following is a quote from an ad for a mobile home for sale in Dandridge:
" . . . mobile home in a country setting yet close to I-40, Douglas Dam/Lake, Sevierville/Gatlinburg."
Because I have never been to the area, and also because I am wanting to move to the ETN area, could someone give me some detailed specifics about this particular area? If you know of a mobile home park in this area, do you know if it is a clean, safe, well-kept park? Also, would the area described in the ad (Dandridge?) have a view of the mountains? I have emailed the seller for photos, but have not yet received a reply.
I have read so many good things about the ETN area, and all of you who have posted here are so nice and helpful, I am really looking forward to moving there. By the way, although I am over 60, I am definitely not interested in the typical "senior" activities. I'm still too young.
Thanks in advance for any advice and information you can offer!

I can't really answer your questions...but here are a couple of links in the forum for pictures of the Dandridge area. Also if you go to city-data.com and put in the name of city and state it will pull up alot of helpful info on the area and there are a few more pictures on there. You can also use the search key on the forum pages and enter dandridge and get alot of links with great info on here. Do the same and enter dandridge pictures and you'll probably find alot more photos. That's where I found these links for you.

Thanks, Fallfanatic. I had already done the search before I posted and had seen the the pictures. I didn't see links for much information, though. Maybe I didn't do the search correctly. I'll try it again.

Fallfanatic, you are a lot of help! Just wish someone knew where this mobile home park is located. There surely can't be many of them around there. Maybe someone will know and post. Meanwhile, I'm looking at the links you sent. Thanks!!

You'd be surprised. Most mobile home parks can be very private, out on a country road somewhere. If you can ever get a name, i'll be happy to see what I can find out for you.

Agreed, hiknapster! It definitely is extremely nice of ramblinrose to make that offer. Now . . . if only those people would email me with the photos, I could ask them the name of the park. (I need an icon for "frustration." "Confused" is the closest I could get .)
Ramblinrose I hope I have some information for you soon, and thank you so, so much for offering to help. I won't forget that when I move down there. Is there a good place for coffee, or lunch?

Where did my post go??
I posted earlier but dont see it so I will repeat it, lol.
I have been to Dandridge and its beautiful over there. Its a very small quaint town. I dont remember seeing a Mobile Home Park while there so cant help you in that way but Dandridge is beautiful, especially around the lake(when its full and we arent in a drought)
When I transferred my tag and title to Tn it cost me $35 in Sevier County. Lot cheaper than Florida thats for sure.

The thing about trailer parks is that they can be terrifying. I live in one, but I saw a few before we settled in this one and I have seen quite a few since. I live in a place that is one short road, run by attorneys and they run a tight ship. Even still, we have had a few problems. The owners have taken care of it in short order, but it was still pretty awful.
Besides, I wouldn't buy anything without visiting. Pictures are just not going to do it, even if it is a single family home. In fact, I wouldn't rent anything without visiting.
