Please be sure and let us know what you were able to get done.
I am so sorry that your neighbor is being like that. Maybe he has some personal issues or something. I don't believe that gives him the right to be that way, but you just never know what might be going on in anothers life. ( I hope that made sense.... I have to believe that there is a reason for his behavior, though it does not excuse it.) I wish you the very best and hope this situation will be resolved quickly.![]() |

Whoa. He put up a fence on HIS property and you want to make him get rid of it? Yet another reason I live in the country. As long as there are no rules surrounding the property i.e. HOA or subdivision laws, it's HIS property to protect.
What if he's got livestock or intends to get it? What if neighborhood dogs won't stop using his yard as a poop station and he's tired of it? The person that suggested shorting it out- why YES, that's an awesome idea. Then whatever livestock he has/may have can get out, cause property damage, possibly get hit by a car, cause damage to it and possible death to the driver and the animal oh AND it'll all be on the animal owner's head. Fantastic idea. If you're worried about your kids, teach them to stay away from the fence. Most electric fences have a variating current, so the chances of the kids getting shocked any harder than enough to teach them to stay away is slim. How would you feel if you put up a lattice fence covered in rose bushes, after all- kids can get stuck with briars too- and he got a petition together to get it taken down? |

if it was on his property fine, but it's right on the line, as for my kids, i have a one year old too i think he still doesn't know any better, as for livestock.. haha thats funny, we live in the county but in a residential area, no live stock in this subdivision, the dogs can't poop in his yard if they have a designated area... they have their own part of the yard, more than 50 feet away from his property, i think i would rather have brair/rose bushes as a fence instaed at least it wouldn't down the property value, Buy the way how would you like to walk out of your back patio door and the first thing you see is a tacky dangerous electric fence not even ten feet from your back door!

Excuse me? Read what? The sarcastic little smiley that accompanied the *joke*? No, darlin' I don't hug trees. Don't assume you know everything. I do however, have livestock, pets AND children. And know a little bit about the fencing laws in TN as a result. Even making the suggestion could entice someone to do it. Financial and emotional ruin is nothing to be frivilous about. |

I'd check on the survey, if it's truely on the line, he may have to move it. I don't mean YOUR dogs, I mean ANY dogs. Tn is rather lax about the leash laws. Well, considering I walk right out my back door and see a "tacky, *dangerous* electric fence" I don't have a great big problem with it..... considering it's keeping what needs to be in IN and what needs to be out OUT. |
