Angel Food
The Angel Food program is a great program, for $30 you get quite a bit of food(equal to about $75 worth)and its good food and good meat. You dont have to meet any criteria or income level to buy it and you can get as many boxes as you want, they even have steak boxes for $20 if you buy the main box. I usually get it almost every month.

Thanks, SMG.
What a wonderful program. I think that this is such a worthy cause.
The family was talking at dinner about some of these goofy TV shows where people eat 60 hot dogs or a 5 lb. hamburger. I said to my son "and to think that there are people in this country who don't have anything to eat today."
This really makes us think where our priorities should lie.

We have Angel Food Ministries in MD, but not around where I live, which is funny b/c I live in Baltimore, lol...
I am part of a Mommy's forum covering the whole state and people are ALWAYS raving about Angel Food Boxes--I am excited to see that they are available in Knoxville!!

Thanks for the link, joee. That is a great program.
Mysticfire, that is strange that Baltimore doesn't have an Angel Food in Baltimore. They must have some kind of food kitchen, don't they?
You see a food kitchen or food bank in most large cities these days, but I think it is more unique to find such an active one in a town the size of Maryville. The folks in Blount County deserves a lot of credit for getting this organized.

yes, they have quite a few food kitchens that help the large homeless population down in the city--we are nowhere close to that part-I am in the county but not in the city-you would think Angel Food would be there, though!

Thanks, SMG. I did check our little town and there is one site within 20 miles of us.
They accept donations and volunteers and the sites include both phone number and mail-in contact information.
Sounds like just the thing for semi-retired folks like us. Busy hands, don't you know.
