Default Turkey Creek shopping question

When people talk about Turkey Creek shopping are they referring to a specific location/center or just a general area. Spent the day cruising around west knox and see all sorts of places along Kingston Pike but no "Turkey Creek" center/mall/whatever.

Of course flying solo with a map and GPS I may have missed a sign.

By the way, I really like Farragut and environs. Reminds me of Potomac back home in Md but lower priced.

Tomorrow I'm gonna cruise into Loudon and Monroe counties but west knox looks like where I'd be most comfortable.

I LOVE the way people wave and say Hi as I drove thru their heighborhoods .

Turkey Creek, is a large area of shopping stores, resturants, movie theatres, and a super walmart, and several motels. It is located between Lovell rd, and Campbell station.

It runs parallel to I-40; actually in between I-40 and Kingston Pike in between the Farragut/Campbells Station exit and the Lovell Hills exits (or roads if you are on KP). You can also take Cedar Bluff exit and get on Parkside from there (just look for all of the car dealerships). Parkside runs underneath Pellissippi Parkway as a frame of reference for you.

There is a sign at the entrance to Turkey Creek Shopping Center. It's located next to Turkey Creek, hence the name.
It's an "open air" shopping center, not enclosed. There are several sections to it.
It's gone from nothing to huge in just a few years.
The most noticeable part of it from I-40 is Carmax. Take I-40 to Lovell Road and go South. Get in the right lane, and pass Ruby Tuesday's, I-HOP, Shoney's. Turn right at the BMW/Wasabi corner. You'll see the Turkey Creek sign as you turn.
Turkey Creek wetlands will be on your right and Baptist Hospital on your left. Keep going and you're there.

We went there when we were down in April. That mall is pretty upscale and in my view, is a little too much like what we have here in NJ. Gander Mountain, jeez! What can you get there that you can't get at Walmart for half the price! lol

For a newcomer, it's hard to see. I drove around for an hour looking for it last time I was in town. You can't see any buildings from the road, which is what through me. The Turkey Creek sign is small and hard to miss.

I found it. If I had traveled that stretch of I 40 I would have seen it.

More driving around today. Getting to know the lay of the land.

Traffic around here sure is a lot better than DC metro area.

Turkey Creek on a weekend is probably one of the most congested areas you'll find in Knoxville, but I'm sure even that doesn't compare to DC.

Good to hear you found it. Enjoy the rest of your time here!
