Door to door magazine sales Farragut
Everyone beware. There have been, again, people going door to door here in West Knoxville trying to get you to subscribe to their magazines. It is a scam, and people have been raped, murdered, etc. around the country by these folks. Start a neighborhood watch or something to protect yourselves. Do a search on the internet and read about all the crime. It is really something to be aware of - and don't open your door for any reason to these people.

I have not heard of this, sounds scary. Can you by chance post a link to an article or news story that confirms this info please?

I found this article about magazine sales in Farragut. It's two months old. I think the entire country is wary of door to door sales of any item.

Here's a good article on the issue.
I thought I had heard, in passing, about a Knoxville murder. I imagine that the original poster remembers it and was quite shaken by hearing that they are coming around again. The article mentions the Knoxville incident, along with others across the country.
Thanks for giving the warning, brendaj.

I live in Sequoyah Hills and I had 2 different groups come by 2 weeks ago. I didn't buy anything because it sounds like a scam. But now I'm really bothered by it because I didn't know people get murdered with these kinds of things! Scary!!

This is awful! I had honestly not heard this before. I know there was something a few weeks back in Bristol about people trying to sell you a "deal" on re paving your driveway because "a neighbor had already paid for the supplies." In reality the were stolen supplies and checking out the property to rob at a later time.
But my gosh! raping and killing! That is just terrible, not to say getting robed is good but.......

Wow, I've never heard about that either! We've had people come knock on our door from church groups twice now but not magazine sellers. I'm answering my door with my big, scary dog from now on.

What a sad state we are finding ourselves in huh? How lucky I was to be able to run around the neighborhood as a kid and not worry about bad people. No wonder kids these days stay indoors and play video and computer games. <sigh> How sad we can't open our door without fear.

Hmm...haven't had that trouble. We had some girl that was supposedly studying to be a missionary come by selling books the other night.
My favorite is the "we have the meat/produce/etc. that we HAVE to get rid of before we go back" guy.
