I'm trying to find a job in Knoxville and relocate from Florida. The only way I can see to do this is to get on the phone and set up some interviews and come up to Knoxville to meet with companies.
I'd like to find a clean, safe motel that I can stay in for about a week. The least expensive, the better but I don't want to be in a crack motel or stay in a bad part of town. I just need a decent place to sleep for a week while I interview. Does anyone have any suggestions or comments? I've been on line and anyplace that goes for less than $50/night has horrible ratings (Of course, there are only 2-3 ratings per motel so I have to take them with a grain of salt). I'd like to hear anyone else's experiences regarding spending some motel time looking for work in Knoxville...Thanks. |

When I was moving up here I stayed a lot at the Motel 6 on Lovell Road at I-40. Very convenient, always clean and all single story.
Also check the extended stay hotels. There are clusters of motels/extended stay motels in Turkey Creek, on North Peters Road, Cedar Bluff, those are all in a safe area and conveniently located for restaurants and such. |

There was a hotel we stayed at last time we were down here looking at houses--I cannot for the life of me remember what it was called--it was not fancy by any means, but was nicely kept and the rate was very reasonable. I will ask my hubby in the morning and see if he can help jog my memory!

Super 8 on Merchants Drive (exit 108 off I-75) is clean and cheap. I don't know if they have weekly rates, but they serve breakfast. I stayed there with my kids and felt safe.

My dad just stayed at The Red Roof Inn on Cedar Lane. I think he paid $45. Very decent with pool. Lots of other tourists. Continental breakfast. He might have had it a little cheaper, with his senior citizen discount.

We stayed at the cub motel in Cosby when we were there, it was an easy comute to area attractions, and Knoxville area as well. The rooms are nice and clean, back decks off each room with creek, grills and picnic tables,we loved it. Think it was 59.00 per night, and was it worth it,peacefull and tranquil. Hope all goes well with the job hunt for you.

The Super 8 on Papermill was decent when we stayed there. I think it's in the 100's for a week stay.
