It looks like one person may have died and others are critical.

Wow, I had no idea. My husband and I just drove past there about noon and saw all the cars and police cars. I don't know what is happening in this world Gailli but this is very sad and I hope the victims will be okay.

I just heard that one man died and there are about 5 in critical condition. The guy that did it is 58 and a resident of Knox. He was not a member of the church. Its so sad, my prayers go out to the families and to the Church in lieu of their loss and pray the critically injured pull through.

If nothing else at least we should be grateful for the wonderful acts of heroism that were displayed this morning. The one man who was slain used his own body to shield others when the gunman opened fire. May his soul rest in peace, and may everyone affected by this tragedy heal.

I just saw on TV that a second victim died. It just doesn't seem right that it happened in a church. it's hard to wrap my mind around the senselessness of it all.

I heard about this shooting this morning at the Unitarian church I attend near Memphis. Does anyone know if this was done because it is a Unitarian church specifically? Or was it just random?

Thanks for sharing any info you have. I am off to other web sites to see what I can find out. First time today on inet and haven't seen any tv news today.

They're reporting on the News Sentinel web site that the gunman hated religion in general. I don't think he picked on the Unitarians specifically, but of course I have no idea. A sick, twisted man.

Very sorry to hear of this horrible incident in Knoxville. I have been reading it on the internet and saw it on the evening news. Everyone is fed up with the amount of mass killings in this country in public places. What is worse is where they are happening more and more. I don't believe there is nothing that can be done to put a stop to this.
