It's not. And I notice a huge difference when I use 10 percent ethanol.

Just in mileage, or performance?

I'm pretty sure everywhere in Missouri is now E10, not sure about KS.

I'm sure it will continue to spread.

I don't think performance, and I drive a stick, but dang, that gas is gone by 2/3rds of what I am use to. If I see ethanol I drive out of the station.

My husband drives a stick, too, and he see no difference, but he says it just burns right through.

If it has ethanol it has to be posted on the pump.

I think it has to do with the engine in your car. I drive a PT cruiser (automatic) and it says right in the book DO NOT USE ETHANOL enhanced gas. And boy can I tell the difference in performance. It makes funny knocking sounds and does this "chug" thing when trying to accelerate, like on entrance ramps. Now my folks, they drive a Ford Expedition(automatic) and they see no difference in performance. Hubby drives a mustang cobra (stick) and he can REALLY see and feel the difference in performance, but then again, it is a performance muscle car so anything different can be felt.
We have only a very few gas stations around that don't have Ethanol and well, some times we just don't have a choice but to get it. We have found that if we have to use the ethanol, we use a gas treatment in our cars once every month and a half or so helps with the performance. I agree with Hik though, no matter how they run, they go through the gas much faster if it is ethanol.

most cars should be able to run on e10 without serious problems, although you may notice power loss. the biggest drawback of the e10 is that you actually do lose fuel mileage when using it. it seems to me i go through a tank a lot faster than i did before everyone switched to e10. the point of the e10 is to help reduce oil dependency but if we have to buy more fuel is it really helping anything?

A couple of stations in Fountain City are now advertising that they don't use ethanol, including the famous "No Lottery, No Beer, Not a Casino" station. Now the last line reads, "No Ethanol."

I haven't noticed a difference in the Escape. Seems to be about the same around town although I don't seem to get as good mileage on long runs.
I ran 10% once in the Saab and took it to the mechanic because I thought it had a serious problem. He asked me if I used ethanol, I said yes, he said, don't do that. He drained some off, told me to fill it with non-ethanol premium and it would be fine. It was.

Where's the other one? I'm choosing not to visit that one with the slogan outside by Litton's.
