Hi Everyone.

We are pretty much new to the area and are having a blast. This week, my oldest daughter busted up her knee so we can't do anything that involves a lot of walking. I have to very fun adventure loving girls (7 and 10).

Any suggestions? We are willing to try and drive just about anywhere.

Thanks!

Make sure to pick up the Friday Knoxville paper. Every Friday they have a weekend preview edition that lists fun stuff to do. Same for the Maryville paper.

We are thinking of heading over to a cavern this weekend. There are so many to choose from!

How about some kind of lunch/dinner riverboat cruise? I've never done it myself but it seems like it would be do-able for someone who can't walk and yet it would afford you the opportunity to be outdoors and see stuff. There's one in Knoxville and probably one in Chattanooga..

In Oak Ridge there's a Gypsy Moon Festival of Music on August 16 at the open ampitheater by the civic center. It's free. Just bring lawn chairs to sit on.

In Pigeon Forge, there's a magic show for the whole family.

Head over to the Smokies and do the auto tour through Cades Cover either late on Saturday (to see the deer grazing), or early Sunday morning (for the same reason). Saturday morning until 10 am is reserved for cyclists (which is what WE are going to do tomorrow ). The majority of the tourists are gone, kids back in school, and we went last Saturday morning right at 10, and enjoyed the drive through with relatively little traffic.

There's also wagon rides at the campground there, or even horseback riding (if her knee can handle it).
