I'm somewhat of a storm nut, so I'd probably get a real kick out of experiencing some of the stuff that happens down along the coast.
I should rephrase that...I'm a fan of watching a storm do it's thing over open areas. I'm not a fan of the destruction they can cause.
I actually kinda miss good thunderstorms.

I understand. I am terrified of hurricanes and tornadoes, yet I'm on the NWS, stormcarib and weatherunderground all the time during these things. I got to the point where I could decipher the data coming from the hurricane hunters.
Anyway, it is near Melbourne, but everything shouldn't be so bad because my dad keeps e-mailing me. Tinman is up and running, too, which is good.
I'm still going to call my dad, though.

How close is your dad to Barefoot Bay? That development reportedly had 51 manufactured homes damaged, 9 uninhabitable. They were also hit in 2004. Hope all is well for him. Oh, and thousands were out of power on the East coast.

Okay. Thank you so much for this info. Just got off the phone with dad. Yes. He says that it was a tornado that hit Barefoot Bay. It is manufactured homes.
My parents live in a condo elsewhere. However, my step-mother spend most of the day in the bathroom reading a book, due to the tornadoes.
My dad is the minister at the local nursing home so he spent the entire day there with the residents. Some were very upset, because they use to live at Barefoot Bay. My dad says that the residents were pretty safe due to the building.
Once again, thanks for telling me about this.

I'm supposed to be moving from New Orleans to Knoxville next week. I sure hope Gustav doesn't hit New Orleans.
