Hello all!
My fiance and I are moving to the area within the next couple of weeks. He is going to be working in the Pigeon Forge area and I will be working in Knoxville. We are trying to find a place in between these areas to live. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? We are from Charleston, SC and very unfamiliar with the area. We have heard Seymour is nice, does anyone know anything about this town? Or any other towns kind of in between? He needs to be able to get to work fairly easy but I need to be able to get to Knoxville easily as well and we like to have somewhat easy access to grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Any tips would be very greatly appreciated. |

Sounds like the best place for you is Seymour, its 11.86 miles to Pigeon Forge, 9.24 miles to Sevierville and its 10.39 miles to South Knoxville and about 12 to downtown Knoxville. Seymour is a very nice place, we have Food City, Kroger here in Seymour and a Super Walmart and Lowes and Home Depot about 5 miles North. Its a very nice quiet town, we have almost every fast food place you can name. I will DM you a message also about where I live here at Smoky Crossing.

Seymour would probably be a good choice. Where are you going to be working? I mean which area.

Why would you want to move from Charleston, SC? It's my favorite place!

Congrtats on your move and gailli nailed it. If your working in any part of West Knoxville, then you can take the John Sevier Hwy, then Aloca hwy, then Pellissippi to West Knoxville, only about a Twenty minute drive or so. Good luck and welcome to our area.

From what I have heard from others who have lived in Charleston, there are not many job opportunities aside from tourism and the military. Like they say, a great place to visit but...
