Default Knoxville in 07?

I used to live in Knoxville from 1986-1991. Went back for a visit around 94, I think. I enjoyed the area very much. The 4 seasons were great. My fur-kids loved it. I was wondering what the area is like now. When I visited after, there was alot of new building going on. How built up is the area now?

Milo Bloom is on a distinguished road
Growing, thankfully.

This includes massive redevelopment downtown, with lots of new condos, stores, a movie theater, etc. World's Fair park is in the midst of being completely renovated. The Sunsphere will be open again soon!

There is also a new riverwalk down by Calhoun's and a new marina over near where the riverboat docks. We now have three different places in the county where kids can play in the fountains in the summer.

There is a new ambitious plan to redevelop the entire south side of the river, just across Henley Street. They are already building condos over there.

The march westward along I-40 continues for the McMansion builders, and Farragut is seeing the main part of that growth. Good or bad, depending on your point of view.

They are also about to start dismantling and re-configuring I-40 through town, in an effort to undo some of the destruction to the street grid that occurred when the interstate was originally built. This will also help with traffic flow through the city.

There's lots more than this going on! I just can't remember all of it. Check out the Metropulse website and they will give you more of the rundown on the goings-on.

It's an exciting time to be in Knoxville!
