I wouldn't be a bit surprised if some of these stations aren't really out of gas. They might be holding back so they can raise the price even more tomorrow. Bet they'll all be up and running in the a.m.-- at a new price point.

They ( gasoline companies ) are having a big party and we're all invited - just bring your credit card - cause you can't carry that much cash......

Just fill your gas cans with dollars (or better yet, gold) and come on down!

Fred says that WNOX has just reported $6 for Pigeon Forge.
He's stuck in line at the Pilot on Broadway near Oglewood.

This coming week is when I have planned for my trip from Memphis to the tri-cities area to look at houses....sigh. Do y'all think it might be difficult to find many gas stations open along the way? Think maybe the panic will settle some over the next few days, or get worse?

See what Hurricane Ike does this weekend. It will depend on how hard the refineries are hit and when the pipeline is expected to be back up.

Isn't it amazing the current rise in price when a barrel of oil fell under $100 today? And, we know that the gas in the pumps today was purchased long before Ike paid a visit.

Finally, the state says that it will do something about gouging. Apparently, in Fentress County it was up to $5 until they started to get too much publicity. I think it's down to $3.89.
The Attorney General says we should be on the lookout for gouging. Well, in that case they can throw all of the station owners in jail.
State AG: be on the lookout for possible gas gouging

Merchant's Drive, Cedar Lane side, BP Shell and Citgo are selling at $4.49. Tanker just delivered at the Citgo.
Pilot, on the other hand is selling for $4.99. For their stinking ethanol gas!
There were a lot of ticked-off people at the Citgo. We were all discussing Pilot's price gouging. Those thieving Haslams.
