Red face Jobs in Knoxville Area

We are thinking about relocating to the area in April 2009. I know jobs are bad everywhere at the time, but normally how are the manufacturing/forklift/warehouse & healthcare jobs? (within 30 mile radius) I would appreciate any advice you could give me. We were thinking about Nashville, but Knoxville seems much nicer.(less tornadoes!) Thanks for any help you may give me.

Nashville has a much better job market, but health care jobs are plentiful just about everywhere. Knoxville has some very large hospitals that seem to be expanding all the time so I can't imagine you'd have much difficulty finding a health care job around here. Manufacturing is down everywhere, but Denso in Maryville seems to be expanding all the time.

Denso may be laying off here very soon, a friend of mine is a temp there and says it's slow and they are prepping for layoffs in the new year.

Yeah. Making auto parts is not really lucrative at this point.

There are other layoffs coming in 2009 in Knoxville and some will come in jobs and organizations thought to be the safest of the safe. Organizations are waiting to get through the holidays. The worst is yet to come in Knoxville.
