Default Disney coming to TN?

I am going to apologize in advance if this has already been asked...I searched some of the old threads but did not see it.

When we were in TN this past summer searching for a second home, we ran into a couple who are also from FL at the local post office. The gentlemen told us and our real estate agent that Disney had just purchased land, something like 3000 acres (I could be wrong on the amount) outside of Gatlinburg??

Has anyone heard anything about this?

Yes, this has been discussed. I'll see if I can find the old thread.

Thank you so much for finding the thread! I am also glad to hear that Disney is not putting in a theme park, especially since I grew up in Orlando!

But I would drop that real estate agent like he/she's hot.

I don't deal with liars on a personal or business level.

Disney has always just bought land in the Triad... somewhere.

It's a classic real estate ploy up there for some reason.

Oh, it was not our real estate agent who gave us this information...actually it was a surprise to real estate agent too! It was some other couple from FL who told us while we were with our real estate agent....they had moved to TN from Orlando. I don't know if they were trying to pursuade us to buy there or not.

"OldmanBob" pointed out my error.

Yeah. As you can see by the thread, there have been more than a few people that have bought because of this ruse and it is not just in East Tennessee.

My house is not on the market but Disney might build in the field across from my house. If anyone wants to get in on the ground floor of a possible opportunity I will part with my home for $1 million.
