Knoxville emissions check
Does Knoxville area have emission check on vehicles? Is vehicle registration a set amount? I'm sure it's different in each county /city, but what is the average? Thanks.

No emissions check that I remember. They do charge like 71.00 to get your first tag but the renewal is like 60.00 each year. I think that is right. Someone else save me.

We did just pay $71 for tags and the clerk said renewal is $60/yr.
As far as emissions, we did not have to have ours done...nothing was said about it at all.

No emissions testing in Knox County...nor any surrounding counties. You have to go to Nashville/Davidson county before you run into that. Tags vary by county...here's a handy link to all 99 county clerks in Tennessee. County Clerk Locations

Is it $72.00 no matter car or truck? I know here in Florida, it depends on the size/type of vehicle. I pay $70.00 ish for my truck...

As far as personal vehicles go, size doesn't matter in regards to fees.

Thanks for the input. Sorry it took me so long to respond. I was surprised to hear you have smog there. Is it in all areas or mostly Knoxville?
