Hi all, first time posting here. I just got a job with Comcast working at their Knoxville call center, and will be starting in the March 19th training class. Right now I live in Alabama, and will hopefully be able to find a place and get moved before I start work.
I was wondering if there are any areas of the city to avoid looking for apartments. I'll be working on the East side of town, but am okay with having a 15 mile commute. I had some other questions on my mind earlier, but can't remember right now. I look forward to getting some feedback from some folks on here before I start calling places to set up a time for me to come look. ![]() |

Welcome to Knoxville!
You'll probably find some good deals on apartments in East Knoxville, but be very careful; "East Knoxville" can refer to some run-down neighborhoods off of Magnolia Ave. If you want to be fairly close to the Comcast facility off Asheville Hwy, check out North Knox / Fountain City. It's got some good apartment complexes, it's clean, safe, convenient, and cheaper than the mess out in West Knox. Good luck! Quote:

Yippee! I'm so glad you got the job. You will be working for the best company in the world! WooHoo!!!!!!!!!
I know nothing about specific apartment complexes. I rent a mobile home in a nice area in north Knox County. I'm looking to move, though. The property is up for sale. My landlord said it isn't. He said that two weeks ago, but it is still listed! ![]() |

Thank you all for the advice and warm welcomes.
LauraC, I actually picked one up while I was there after the interview monday. I haven't had a chance to go through it yet.. I'm also checking knoxnews.com for rental listings, but haven't seen anything too promising.. I am, of course, checking several other sites, and have requested some more information from a couple of places, but I'll have to set up times to come up and visit before I make any final decisions. I am so excited, I've been stuck in a retail rut for about 4 1/2 years, and I'm ready get out. Thanks again for all the warm welcomes ![]() |
