Default Need help with Personal Injury Attorney

I am needing a recommendation for a personal injury attorney. My son is in college and was assaulted by another student. His nose was broken and he had to have surgery. We are trying to decide whether or not to press charges and we need someone who handles this kind of case, hopefully someone who is honest and would not be trying to make a lot of money just because it is a personal injury case. We just want the kid to have some consequences for his actions. Thanks for any advice!

Pressing charges and suing someone in civil court are two different things.

I bought my house from a personal injury lawyer, but since he stole thousands of dollars from his clients, I wouldn't recommend him.

Why would you want to hire an attorney, the way I’m reading it you have a criminal matter that will be taken to the prosecuting attorney, you will need to do this promptly as with waiting it will not look good, first question will be why did you wait so long to file, you’ll need med records, security records if it happened on college property, I’m guessing you did not file a police report of the incident either which will not look good, as far as what will happen to the other party my guess will be possible restitution for medical expense, slap on hand, fined maybe or public service if no priors, probation in many case, plus expense of legal representation.

My question would be why are you pursuing this matter and not your son, the consequences may very well fall back upon your son later down the road for pressing charges, something to think about.
