We moved from Fort Myers and our insurance went down a LOT. There has to be some mistake. Right now, we pay about $600 for the two cars. We were paying about $1,800 and we have MORE coverage now.
Also, our electric is much cheaper here.
I just don't understand how things could be more expensive for you.
And the people. Do you think the people are nicer? I sure do. I bet you don't miss those cranky, pushy retirees.
And the drivers are more polite.
Now, normally it would be in the 50s during the day and high 30s at night, but we have some sort of terrible weather pattern this month. So I apologize for that. The weather here is normally really great.
I will call Will Rymer.
I used another person and I paid $75 for a rick, delivered, and I gave him a $10 for stacking it. It was weird wood. All different, crazy lengths. Half of it was rotted or green. Terrible stuff.
Went over to a landscaper near the Boy's and Girl's Club. As I was getting out of my car I heard the owner tell a woman that once the wood is cut it is no longer green. I told him he should be ashamed of himself and he just laughed. We had a nice conversation, but he wanted $90 for green wood and an extra $20 for delivery. And he is a liar.
I am almost out of wood. Will Rymer it is. Thank you.
By the way, is Will Rymer in Maryville or Knoxville? I'm looking for someone that can deliver.

FYI our auto insurance is also higher here than it was in NC. Our agent noted that a big impact on rates in the percentage of uninsured drivers in the state (as many as 25-30%). Given that it is possible to register a vehicle without proof of insurance in this state, it does seem much "easier" for folks to avoid holding current insurance coverage here than in NC.

But, insurance rates are different in different areas within a particular state, irrespective of the registration without showing proof of insurance. Much depends on the loss ratio of the area, type of vehicle, age of insured, and other factors.

Sure rates vary across the state and per insurer situations. But it is interesting that we are now insuring older vehicles in a less populated area with shorter commutes and paying about 20% more (with utterly clean records). Maybe this is just part of our welcome to Roane County, TN! Or maybe we live in an area with high losses :-)
I will say that our property insurance is less here, though, so it really is all a wash in the end.

My auto insurance is almost as much in TN as it was in L.A., which ranks among the country's highest. My homeowners insurance went up 30% this year. No claims, no changes-- it just went up. I shopped it and other companies were higher. People always rave about what a good deal insurance is here, but that hasn't been my experience.
Utilities add up, too, because you're always using heat or air, and TVA just had a 20% increase. The climate has become six months of summer and six months of winter. It's far less moderate than it used to be here. There are times you'll run the AC during the day, then switch to the heat at night.

How much wood is in a cord of firewood?

I just ordered from Bemis Firewood. They are in New Tazewell. Got a cord, delivered (they are 43 miles away), for $185. Super guy. Talked to him for a half-hour. He's originally from Michigan.
I'll let you all know how the wood is.

I shopped around for insurance when I moved up here to the plateau. Homeowners and car insurance was quite a bit cheaper than FL....

He's in Maryville, He can deliver, call him and he will let you know what the charge is. A guy I work with here in east knoxville got it delivered and stacked for I think $70. He is actually dropping more wood off for me this weekend.
