Thank you

If it was scary for me when the economy was doing well, I can't imagine moving here now. This is just a bad time all around. The only people I know of that are hiring, is VW down in Chattanooga.

Why are you looking to switch? The number of IT professionals graduating college is dropping the need is is going to be great. Development is especially needed despite what the media reports about outsourcing. 2 friends of mine got laid off and had multiple jobs offers with in 2 weeks.

What did you do in IT? What is the Job market like for IT up there, I imagine bad since your switching unless your bored with it like I am?

I had interest in Finance but I think that field will be bad for a while.

Oak ridge/West Knoxville would probably be your best bet for IT jobs. Are you looking to relocate from FL to TN?

It depends on what type of work you do. It's not tech-heavy, although there are a few tech businesses like E W Scripps, Scripps Networks, Knoxville News Sentinel, Jewelry TV, Regal Cinemas.

Yes I would love too move but until the economy improves it would have to be a great opportunity. I love my current job and its a very stable place.

I am currently networking my way so hopefully when the economy improves I can find something pretty easily.

A tech industry I find is not that important. SFla is not heavy tech but every company has a need. Ive done just about everything at one point so I am pretty flexible.

All of these companies are either laying off or pretty much in a hiring freeze at present. Job openings do come up, but I wouldn't move here counting on something opening up right now. Maybe in the spring...
