Good Wine Shops?
Any suggestions for a good wine shop? I'm especially looking for a shop that carries a decent selection of French wine.
I've been to a number of shops from downtown to west knox and beyond, but haven't really found one yet that has a great selection. Maybe I'm just missing it? Recommendations for shops closer to Chattanooga, Crossville or Nashville are also welcome.

My two favorites are McScrooges on North Peters at Cedar Bluff and Ashe's at 4534 Old Kingston Pike. They're in a little shopping center between Lyon's View and Kingston Pike across from the shopping center with Fresh Market and Green Hills Grill.
Both hold wine tastings.
McScrooges is the biggest store. I go to Ashe's when I want a recommendation for a specific dinner or a bottle for a wine lover. Their recommendations have been excellent.
Both have had good Nouveau Beaujolais which is one of the few French wines I buy.

Thanks for the tips! I have been to McScrooge's, but not to Ashes. I'll check it out later this week.

I use Turkey Creek Wine and Spirits, their selection is pretty good. Although, I call them with selections from Food and Wine.com, where you can search by country, wine type, etc., and they order it for me at no charge and have it in two days. Pretty sweet, though if you're craving your favorite wine, then you gotta wait a couple of days, but they have no problem tracking it down.

I've been here many times. I would call their selection modest, overall, but I didn't know that they took special orders (presumably a case minimum?). Thanks for the info.

I visited Ashe's yesterday. That is the shop I was looking for! Small, but a nice selection. :-)
