We have just rented a home on Chestnut Grove Rd in Dandridge and are attempting to set up utilities there. I was told that Charter Communications (for cable, internet, phone), Appalachian Electric, and Shady Grove Utilities were the companies to go with but Charter and Appalachian both said they don't service that area. Any suggestions? I would appreciate any help!

Why not ask the people you rented from?

Didn't Appalachian Electric tell you whose service area that is? I used to live in Dandridge, I'm not sure I know where Chestnut Grove road is?Is that in a sub division like Mathew Estates?
For what its worth I had Charter in Dandridge.
Pam

Well, this may not help, but according to White Fence, which is a good tool to use for finding all available utlities, phone, tv, options etc, it has it listed under Appalachain Electric Coop. Also, I agree with Spider, the landlord should have ALL info for the property. Also, I called Jefferson County Public utility District, and asked them if they knew who would service electricity in that area, and they as well stated AEC. Hope that helps.

When I rechecked that post, I may have posted the wrong link for Chestnut Grove. Here's the right one, sorry.

Thank you all so much for your responses - very helpful. Unfortunately, the landlord is the one who gave us the wrong information (some of it). Appalachian electric IS the one for that area. Apparently there must have been some sort of miscommunication with the first person we spoke to. We called today and, basically, told them they DO service that area and now, it is taken care of. We're still looking for cable/satellite. Charter and comcast say they don't service that neighborhood (approx 3 miles from the elementary school) so I'm guessing we'll have to go with a satellite. Anyway, again, thank you so much for all of your input! We can't wait to get there!
