Utility Bills?
I will be moving to Knoxville in the middle of May and i am trying to figure out all the financial aspects of this move. Since i will be a graduate student at UT, money will be a little steep for me so i am trying to get an idea of how much i will be paying monthly. Can anyone give me an estimate on how much i should expect for the utility bills (electric, gas, cable and phone/internet) please? Any information would be greatly appreciated.
THANKS!

Well much of that depends on how large of a place you're going to have, how new it is, whether it's a house or an apartment, etc.
I have an older (1947) house, 1000 square feet, my utility bill last month was $220. In the fall when I didn't use much heat (I have gas heat) it was about $90/month. In the summer (when I keep the place ice cold) it's about $150/month.
But I have friends who live in an apartment and rarely pay more than about $70/month. It's newer and has better insulation.

I pay about $60 a month in the summer and about $150 a month in the winter for electric. That includes my heat and a/c. I live in a 20-year-old mobile home that is far from airtight.
If you are a new customer and you are in an eligible area, you can get Comcast Triple Play, which is cable, 6 megs of high speed internet, and the phone with unlimited local and long-distance for $99 a month.

Do you mean spread out your payments over the course of the year for electricity? If so, yes, KUB (Knoxville Untility Board) does balanced billing. It's so reasonable that I haven't used it, even during the lean times I was able to pay the electric bill.
