Welcome to the forum! These costs all vary and it is best to work with a realtor to help you establish an area of Seymour and they can help you with the questions above depending on the type and size of home.

Todd,

Welcome to the Knoxville area. As Smoky said, the costs can all vary depending on a lot of different factors. Property taxes in Seymour are considerably less than in parts of Knoxville, as you're only paying county taxes, and not city. There are of course advantages and disadvantages of this. But, a safe estimate is $500-$950 annually on your taxes. The varying factors can be age/size of house, and particularly how large your lot will be. All homes on market will provide their last reported annual taxes on the MLS listing page.

Electric is always relative to particluar homes. How new, how old, how large or small, how well built, how much power you use, how hot or cold you prefer your living. Also homes with newer or upated units can make a large difference. The best thing to do is ask the selling realtor to provide an average winter and summer utlities bill. If they don't have one to provide, you can seek out this info from the utlities company. Utility company will vary with location, but I know some of Seymour uses Sevier County Electric, and Maryville Utilities Board.

Water, fairly cheap. Older homes that take longer to heat water can be more, but not much at all. Homes with pools, or extensive irrigation systems can slighty raise prices too.

Cable is all relative to what you choose. There are always a few options, be it hardline cable or satellite. Bundles with internet or phone, service plans, and number of wanted channels can determine price, and savings. Important to rememebr, if using satellite, never call the company directly. Browse the internet, and there will be incentive deals to get it cheaper. Here's an example from White Fence about what could be available in the area, and an estimate of prices.

Giving a blanket estimate of the area is really not possible, as too many factors can be at play, but this area is known for affordable costs of living, so pending where you're moving from, you may be pleased with discounted pricing. Once you narrow down your search to a few choices, then it's possible for you to better evaluate your true costs. Welcome to the Knoxville area and best of luck!
