My parents will be moving to Tellico next year. I want to move from atlanta (this summer) somewhere near them. I have been told Maryville would be perfect for me. Recently divorced, mother of two (10yr & 4yr). Is there anyone who can SPECIFICALLY recommend neighborhoods and/or schools? I would be so thankful!!! I am in a bit of a time crunch! Thanks!

We have been checking out areas around Knoxville, and Maryville seems to
get high ratings. I search this forum constantly. One statistic I read from a
thread, Maryville ranked 78 on earthquakes when natil avrage is 50 ! Seiver-
ville ranked 73. Would love to know if they actually DO have so many earthquakes.

We have had a few small, and I mean SMALL, earthquakes here in the Knoxville area in the 12+ years since I first moved here. They've never done any damage and are so small that you wouldn't even know we had any if they hadn't reported them in the news. I have to admit I was surprised when it first happened. But no seismologist has ever said we're in any danger for a big earthquake. Memphis, however, is smack on a major fault line (the New Madrid Fault) and is supposed to have another big earthquake sometime like the one in the 1800s that created Reelfoot Lake in West Tennessee.

OK, I am feeling pretty good about the earthquake situation. I am, however, in a bit of a panic about the schools and neighborhoods. Can ANYBODY point me in the right direction? (Honestly, i had no idea about the earthquakes. That is some serious research!

I have lived here for almost 19 years and have never experienced an earthquake that was actually noticable.

Maryville would be convenient to Tellico and the school system is excellent.
