I'm guessing that it evolved into a weather thread because we can empathize with the Floridians trying to escape the gates of hell!
I'm just sayin'...

Bless your hearts; we understand. Y'all were just misguided when you moved there. At least you came to your senses.

I'm not misquided
No way am I misquided. I know exactly why I'm moving to TN.
1. Get my Granddaughter out of FL, so she has better choice of classmates. Not all are bad but most were just raised different.
2. Cost of living
3. Weather and change of seasons
4. Slower pace
5. Beautiful State to live in
6. Retirement FINALLY
7. Not have to rush with my weekend projects, because Monday came too soon.
8. Relax, while my Granddaughter is in school.
9. Get a GPS so I don't get lost
10. Site see - check out the beautifull state of TN ( I want to see all of it )
11 Take all the time I need to set my house
12. Plant some trees and flowers
Maybe not in that order. And I'm sure that there are more reasons than that. I just can't think of anymore at the moment. I'm so excited I can hardly wait.

Dear F to N, you misunderstood me. I was making a joke about people being misguided moving to Florida. Please re-read. Hugs to ya.

Sorry you're right
Yes you are right. I did misunderstand. I just glanced and assumed (Oh no not that)
My Mom brought me here when I was 6 weeks old.
Happy New Year.

One theory is that Floridians are visiting the area to see if they like it in anticipation of a move. I can't believe the number of people at the hospital who have recently left to move to another state. For instance....my boss just moved to Knoxville. I begged her to take me with her.

When I had surgery at Fort Sanders the nurse in pre-op was from Florida. I asked her how she liked it there and she said she loved it and she was not the bubbly time. All business, but she loved it.
I may have told you that a long time ago, I'm not sure.
You must have been heartsick to see her go and leave you behind.
This is for everyone: I would advertise your house up north. Seriously. I would do it now while it is cold and snowing.
Ever read the Florida forum? There are LOTS of people that are hell-bent on moving there, especially at this time of year. You have GOT to beat all the hundreds of thousands that are trying to sell their home. There has got to be a way to advertise up north.
