I'm curious why you're considering moving to a place you know nothing about.

I think Lenoir City is a quaint little town. It's just outside of Farragut so it's starting to grow as Farragut spills out of Knox County. It's located right on a beautiful lake, and it has a fairly low cost of living. It's also right off I-75 so you have easy access to Chattanooga and other points south. It's also got pretty easy access to I-40.

I don't think the schools there in Loudon County are as esteemed as in, say, Oak Ridge or Maryville.

Otherwise, I think it's a nice place.

From personal experience I'll tell you that LC police officers are some of the rudest, most back-woodsy people on the planet. I don't know if its the transplants or what. An uninsured motorist hit me on 321 in the heart of LC and the cop acted like it was my fault, treating me like crap and hardly letting me explain myself. Thank god she finally admitted to fault at the scene, otherwise it would have been a court hassle.

My father lives in west Blount County just off 321, and I now live in Chattanooga. When traveling home, I take 75-to-40-down Pellissippi. It was such a headache I refuse to travel through there.

Tennessee National now has 1/2 priced lots though!!

I've heard that before. Their law enforcement personnel are very well known for their behavior. A simple Google search provides news stories.

JMT,
You know curiosity killed the cat, right? Gee.....its not that I am considering moving to a place that I "know nothing about." However, being new to the area, I was interested in getting feedback on a city that I had heard really good things about. Everyone has an opinion.......wanted to hear them all. And thanks for yours......every little bit helps, I guess. Good grief..........

Hey Calliecate, good move, and jmt, is always a little direct, but all the newest shopping places, right there on hwy 321. Only a 30 minute drive into the ridge, and only 15 minutes into the west knox area. Several new subd with various choices in homes, and condos to choose from. If you behave, you should not have to worry about the Police. For night life and places, not too much, but you got several good places to choose from to eat.
