Thumbs up It's almost time for Mardi Growl!

Last year, while browsing the city of Knoxville's website, I read an announcement for a dog parade called "Mardi Growl". Well, I guess the idea must have been a success last year, because they're doing it again on February 21st this year. For this year's parade, one of the dogs who played Marley in the movie "Marley and Me" will appear as the Grand Marshal. Here's a link to the press release for anyone interested:

If anyone here on the board attended or participated in last year's parade, I'd like to hear what you thought of it and see any photos if you have them.
I've always been a dog lover myself, so I think it's kind of cool that Knoxville does this. We don't have anything like it up here in NY.

Thanks for posting that link. I didn't know about this and never think to check Knoxville's web page.

You're welcome, Pam.
I thought it sounded like a fun thing for dog owners or anyone who likes dogs, plus the registration fees go to help support the Young-Williams Animal Center's pet adoption efforts.

It does sound like a fun activity. I told Bill about it but we won't be taking Petey to the parade as his social skills suck.

I didn't go last year, but this year my husband and I plan on taking our 3 dogs. We even have simple costumes for them and everything. It sounds like a fun event with the parade, costume contest, and a variety of pet-related vendors, plus everything benefits the Young-Williams Animal Center. If you register before Feb.13 it is $8 per dog and after that it is $10. You can register online through the City of Knoxville website.
