As far as the original question that asked if Knoxville is hotter in the summer than Chattanooga, the weather records say no. Knoxville's July daily temps average 2º lower than Chattanooga's July averages. The average max highs for July in Knoxville are 3º lower than Chattanooga. So, it appears that Knoxville is a little more comfortable in the summer months that Chattanooga.
