It's the same all over
I think the job situation is likely kind of grim. While there are jobs available, there is company after company closing their doors, or laying off employees. Knoxville has not escaped the economic problems that are going on all over the country.
I think to move somewhere without a job in hand would be very risky. Unless of course you are financially set and don't need a job to pay the bills.
At an inspection last week, my client took a phone call from a co-worker. The co-worker had just been laid off. My client knew that four people were getting pink slips, but couldn't say anything. At least he still had a job.
