Default Knox zip codes

Ok here I go again ( JMT ) :0 this time.....
nephew saw all of my Tennessee "stuff" spread out all over the place. Now he and his wife have the bug. Told them about the forum. Anyway they are planing a trip down, but want to know the zip codes for North Hills, Lincoln Park and Sharps Park. I believe they are going to Realtor .com first.

This is exciting! I used to want to work for the Chamber of Commerce.

North Hills and Lincoln Park are in the same ZIP code, 37917. Just north of there on the other side of I-640 is Fountain City which is another really cool, old, hilly neighborhood with cute older homes (it was Knoxville's first suburb way back in the 1920s). Its ZIP code is 37918.

Sharp's Ridge isn't a neighborhood, it's just a big park right next to Lincoln Park. It's where Knoxville's TV and radio stations have their big antennas (antennae?) because it's the highest point in the city. It's got great views of downtown Knoxville with the mountains off in the distance.

Sharp's Ridge is also popular with bird watchers. Here's something I found:

"Sharp's Ridge Memorial Park is one of the best places in the Knoxville region to observe migrant songbirds during the spring. It is well known and popular with birders, and birders are usually present weekend mornings during April and early May, and, especially in late April and early May, many weekday mornings. At this time, it is common to record 15 or more species of wood warblers, and, on occasion, 20 or more warblers. Vireos, Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, thrushes, tanagers, Indigo Buntings, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, and orioles are regularly present.

"Sharp's Ridge can also be a good place to find fall migrants, although it is less consistently productive during the fall than in the spring."

Doesn't that sound nice?

Here's a picture of downtown Knoxville from Sharp's Ridge.

Default new 4 U

Hey, JMT, maybe you missed your calling. Your making a great thread guide
however
Thanks soooo much you for all of the wonderful tips,I know the info will be put to use, and the nephew is really good with a hammer and a saw, and LOVES fix-it projects. Sounds like these are just the spots for him. A bonus too.......he is an outdoors type and loves to spend a day watching the birds,
( both 2 and 4 legged types) and loves to feed
the, photographe them, and collect their feathers for his fishing jijs or whatever they are.

Default all the great info

You couldn't be more correct. Everyone has been soooo helpful with great
suggestions, and I think all of my questions were addressed. Making a big
location change ( Ohio to Tn ) a little apprehensive. We are making the
change a retirees. Coming to the area cold, no family, no friends, no jobs,
don't know areas, eeks ! Want the mountains, fishing, warmer climate and low
taxes.
I still have so many questions, too. Have written to several area Chamber of
Commerce for additional town information.
Good luck and happy trails to you.
