You can see a lot of the episodes here: WBIR.com | Knoxville, TN | Heartland

It is a great local show that highlights the history and people who make up that cultural history of the Smoky Mountain region.

I cannot remember the name of the series that aired on PBS several years ago (10 or more), but it may be the Heartland series. Anyway, if it is, could someone tell me if my memory is a good enough clue: One of the episodes was a woman with a nice garden who made her own dill pickles and picked wild herbs. I remember she made a comment that her dill pickle "juice" cured the sore throat. If it is this series, I really would like to purchase some of the DVD's, so anyone who can remember, please let me know if I am on the right track. Thanks!

That's so sad that they have stopped airing Bill Landry's show. I really enjoyed watching the show while growing up in eastern Tennessee.

My mother's aunt and her family were featured on the show every year. I think it was the buck-dancing thing they did.
