Since you've got no responses, I'm going to ask... what... is an indian princess group?

Lulu,

I'm not sure if they still do it here, but the YMCA used to offer indian princess groups. I think they may have changed the name to indian maidens?

Your best best is to contact one of the five Knoxville-area YMCAs directly and ask (click on the individual location links for maps & phone numbers.) FWIW, I don't see any mention of the program (now called YMCA Adventure Guides) on their websites.

Hey Lulu1234, is that program, a part of some of the Inpendent Baptist church?

Glad to see that I am not the only one that wondered what an Indian Princess group was without the benefit of Google.

So, are there any in Knoxville?

I think indian princess is a YMCA group for dads and daughters - kind of like a boyscouts. I called the downtown Y, but they had never heard of it. When I googled it, it looked like there might have been one in oak ridge at one time. I will try searching with the new name - thanks. Do you know of any other good outdoorsy father daughter groups?

THANK YOU, lindsey

A few years ago, a handfull of us Sequoyah Hills/Bearden area dads launched a pseudo-renegade Indian Princess tribe (my daughter's now 10). We only lasted 1 year and I'm pretty sure we were the only tribe in Knoxville. I suggest he contact North Chattanooga YMCA because Indian Princess is VERY strong there. My daughter and I went to their campouts @ Camp Ocoee for three years.
