Default Apartments in West Knoxville

I will be moving to Knoxville for approximately 4 months for a graduate level internship and am looking for an apartment that is reasonably priced (but also safe!) in the west part of the city. I live out of state and won't be able to drive down to check out any places so any suggestions would be great!!! Thanks!

Hey gewalte, Starting far west, located off of Campbell Station rd, is Lanesborough, which has 2 bedrooms, and also 3, and is an upscale type, and going off of Middlebrook is Forrest Ridge, and Walker Springs is great, located off of walker springs. I have visited all 3, and did live at Lanesborough. good luck, and if you need more, feel free to dm me.

I lived at The Grove at Deane Hill for three years (2005-2008) and I loved it. I can promise you that you would have no problems living there, and it is very safe (with a gated entrance) and very well-located. Before moving to Knoxville in 2005, I spent several days visiting and researching EVERY apartment complex in West Knoxville. In my opinion, the top choices are:

1.) The Grove
2.) The Reserve
3.) Walker's Crossing
4.) The Willows

These are probably the most
"desireable" complexes in W. Knoxville, but also the most expensive. I paid around $900/month for a 2 bedroom at the Grove. My old girlfriend paid around $600/month to live at Sunchase Apartments. Those are a fine option too, if price is more of a concern for you (especially if you will only be there for four months).

Thanks for the suggestions!!! I've contacted most of them. Do either of you know anything about Copper Pointe?

Thanks!

Copper Pointe is OK. They refurbished two years ago when it changed ownership. Use to be Concept 21. Lots of kids there -- I get stuck behind the school bus dropping kids off. It's around the corner from me. Convenient location.
There are several condos for rent right now in Palisades Condos, which is at Gleason and Gallaher view. I can jot down some phone numbers from the signs and DM them to you next time I'm out. There are several two bedroom and a couple of three bedrooms available. A nice friendly complex with pool and tennis court. Quite a few students and grad students around but not a party scene.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I'm looking for just a one bedroom. So far, Copper Pointe has offered the best deal. I've also checked into Forest Ridge and The Willows, but they're a little bit more expensive.

Copper Pointe should be fine. Try to get an apartment that's further back in the complex. There is major construction right now at the corner of Gleason and Gallaher View with much needed widening of the street and replacing the stop sign with a light.
The farther back in the complex you are from that intersection, the quieter it will be when they start working early in the morning.

Are you finding it easy to get a four month lease?

No...it hasnt been that difficult to find a 4 month lease...but everyone tacks short term lease fees on to rent.

Does anyone know anything about Windrush Apartments? I'm just trying to shop around a little before I sign a lease. Thanks!

Windrush is kind of old and creaky. It's on a very busy street and would be hard to get across it to go the right way to the Interstate to get to UT. Copper Pointe would be a better choice.
Have you tried Craigslist and classifieds in Metropulse?
Metro Pulse: Knoxville News, Issues, Entertainment, Culture, People
Usually a lot of short term rentals listed.
