A friend of mine just moved to Chattanooga and told me of photo traffic ticketing vans that cruise the highway at the posted speed and take pictures of passing cars to send them a ticket.

Anything like that in Knoxville?

They also have the red light camera that will take your pic if your car nudges a little over the white line in an intersection.
I do not want to move to an area that has such things going on, looking for a simpler life not more stress worrying about looking over my shoulder every day.

I'd be surprised if they have something like that in Knoxville/eastern Tennessee.

Are you sure it's not the Google van? Just kidding!

I've never heard of anything like that.

Never heard of anything like that, I am sure if the vans existed, they would have made headlines like the traffic cameras.

We may not have them here, but it looks like they are common in Chatt.

Seriously are you sure it wasn't Google Maps? I came upon a Google van photographing in Camp Verde, AZ a couple years ago. It was a white van with small barely noticable Google logo on it.

Well, that was my thought, too, but the way they are discussing it in that thread it is something that most Chatt residents know about.

Oooooh, I was wondering, did you wave? Are you on street view?

Well no I didn't wave because having lived in Oak Ridge my first thought when seeing a weird looking van with a surveilance bubble on top was it was a govt vehicle doing something. As I passed I saw it was Google. But I suppose yes they may have photographed me. I guess I'm a star now.
