Good news, a Charlotte based chain is opening two stores in Knoxville. They serve wood fired pizza and have over 20 beers on tap. So glad that we are attracting new businesses here. Construction under way as Brixx pizza chain set to open two sites in West Knox : Business : Knoxville News Sentinel

I don't know, IMO the mom and pop-owned pizzerias always made the tastiest traditional pizza. But, that's just me.

IIRC, Atlanta Bread was the previous owner of the new Brixx location in Turkey Creek. It's been vacant for a while (at least a year), so I'm glad somebody is filling the space. I'll make sure to stop by in the future.

Edit - Now that I've read the article, I realize it clearly makes the Atlanta Bread connection. I'm an idiot.

We lived in Huntersville when this outfit only had a couple of locations in the Charlotte market. I have only had the pizza (usually spicy shrimp) so can't speak to the rest of their menu or how their growth has impacted the quality (don't know if it has or hasn't) BUT I found their pizza to be pretty good overall. I wouldn't make a special trip to eat it but if I was in the area I would certainly consider stopping in for a bite.

I wouldn't call it awesome..but opinions and experiences vary.
