Default Are you sure you're from NJ?

I have a fun story to share. I had to get a tail light repaired. I'm from NJ, but currently driving through TN. I'm enjoying some Nashville time and head to Knoxville tomorrow.

The gentleman at the auto shop actually said to me, "Are you sure you're from NJ? You're the nicest person I've ever met from NJ!"

I laughed, I guess the Snooki's of Jersey Shore and previous NJ folks that have traveled through haven't left a great impression. We're not all like that!!!

He said, "You're way too nice to be from NJ."

Manners come in all shapes, all sizes, and from people from all states! My son (17yo) was like, you shouldn't tell people down here you're from NJ they won't like you....I taught him that if you treat people kindly and with respect, they will treat you that way in return. I'd rather him learn that lesson than feeling like he can't be himself if he's polite and respectful.

Talking I knew y'all would understand ;)

I was sitting on my little stool picking beans last night and my husband was helping by checking the rest of the garden for ripeness. From over in the jungle that is the tomatoes I hear:

"Honey? These mountain gold tomatoes- how do you know when they're ripe? What color am I looking for?"

"Remember the navajo tacos from dinner last night? When Kara said she thought I had peaches on my plate? Look for that."

"Okay. Got one here I think fits."

"Cool. What color is it?"

"UT orange."

Anyone think he's ready for football? lol

We all end up doing it, don't we; comparing ordinary objects to that particularly beautiful shade of orange?

Great story.

It's a chat thread, so anything and everything goes.It doesn't have any one subject, we can all chit chat with one another here and it is allowed, unlike on a regular thread that has a topic that must be adhered to.

So welcome Bizar1!
Pam
