Default Smoky Mountain pictures....

Here's a few of the ones I took last weekend in the park. I posted it here instead of the Knoxville forum since people from all over the state visit the park...

The Ogle cabin and barn at the beginning of the Roaring Fork Motor Trail - one of my favorite parts of the park.

The Sinks...along Little River Road, my favorite drive in the area.

Just an interesting combination of tree roots and moss above The Sinks...sort of a Zen Garden feel to it...

Just one of the many, many awe inspiring vistas in Cades Cove. There's no way to capture the panoramic views with a normal camera.

Steeple of the Primitive Baptist Church in Cades Cove...

Inside the Methodist Church in Cades Cove...

The Henry Whitehead cabin in Cades Cove...

Got within about 50 yards of this little guy near the Tipton place in Cades Cove...

The Carter Shields place in Cades Cove

The tunnel on Little River Road between Cades Cove and Townsend

The Columbine was booming all along Little River Road

And the Trillium was in bloom all through the park

Meigs Falls (along Little River Road) is the only real waterfall viewable from the road...

Clingmans Dome was a little overcast

Coming back down from Newfound Gap, I happened on a great view where the clouds were just above us...and it was clear below. You just had to be there...

Cades Cove... yes, I have been there several times... a very nice and peaceful place. I have actually stood on the front porch of that house before and have photos of me there... its been about 5 years though since we were last there.

Thanks for the photos!

Wow it's amazing how far behind the trees are in the mountains compared to the valley.

Nice pics. Love the tunnel photo! My wife shoots alot, I may have to send her up there just to get some funky pics of the tunnel. Thanks for sharing, looked like a great few days of exploration.

I ran into a similar situation in Scotland. there was a layer of fog though that was about 60 feet tall and from above it looked like the ridges and monuments were floating in the fog, unless you are there you don't get that same impression. thanks for the great pics.

Thanks for the pics. If anyone has visited GSM and/or Cades Cove, the photos are a walk-back through your travels. Great!
