Default Knoxville motorcycle tenting

Hi all, new here. Trying to find out some info. I am coming down to the Honda Hoot in June and am trying to find a good camground near the festivities in Knoxville, without spending a fortune for a tent site. I found one that seemed nice, Southlake RV Park, but can't get anyone on my bike forums to reply from that area. Just want to know if this is a good place to stay, or if there is anywhere else close by that would be better. I will be on a bike, so they have to allow them in the sites.
Thanks for any help!

Default Still early.

S.M> Hello there. We are slightly South of your target, so have not used any places in Knoxville. Always wnated to go to that Event, as I had classics from the 60's , 305 scramblers, super Hawks, cb-350's 450's. Have nifty dual sport 650 now.
If you were coming up from south could stay here, or county park in river cove 2 miles away. We are in Dayton, Rt # 27 area.
On the West side of the city, there is more activity with the hiking Cumberland Trail, and some of the state parks, with lakes / water falls.
Our river have quite a few large CHURCH Camps that those volunteers use, so it may give you time to ask .?...............[/IMG]

I will be coming from Ohio, so won't be going any farther down if I can help it. This is the first time I will be at the Hoot. Funny, I'm riding a SuperHawk down, the VTR1000. Should be finished it in about 2 weeks, will be a showpiece that I told my brother-in-law to have at. He's quite the painter. He's had 2 vans featured in Truckin' Mag and a Barracuda in Car Craft, even did a give-away car for Summit Racing, Camaro I think. He is an awsome painter.
BTW, your 650 wouldn't be a KLR would it? I figure that or a BMW, those seem to be the two most popular. I have an '85 Suzuki SP600, only year they made it. Fun little toy to play on the backroads with.
Thanks for the info, if no one replies about the RV park, I may check into what you suggested.
Thanks again!

Default Honda Dual Sport

S: Morning ,The Honda we have now is On / Off rode , single cyl 650 cc, mid 90's. Always looked for 86 / 87 model with the GOLD wheels, but sort of rare.
Son found this private deal out of Daytona, only 3k miles when we got , some aftermarket <Muffler, bigger tank, lighter bar, battery box, etc. Used in PA as forest ranger one summer.
Nifty here for short trips and on older RR bed hiking / swimming hole picnic.
Always get asking For Sale. ?? Have extra knobby's, but did not use on lake bed this winter................. ....[/IMG]

Hey guys, I don't have or know anything about motorcycles but, I ran across this camp site, while researching. I know Maryville is close to Knoxville, maybe this is close? Thought I would help. Have fun.

Menglin,
Thanks! That is a little farther than what I was thinking, but I like the idea of a bike campground. I am going to contact them and see if they have anything open for that week. Thanks again!

Split,
Cool pic, looks a lot like my SP (pic attached)
Also adding couple of my SuperHawk I am working on. One of new painted fairing, and one of the bike before I started working on it. Should be done in about 2 weeks, a lot of detail painting and flames to add yet to the paint job.

Thanks again guys! Great help!
