I'm shocked that somebody would admit this in such a proud way. That such backwards thinking still exists nowadays truly scares me. There is nothing even remotely acceptable or logical about your point of view, so to say the least I'm completely dumbfounded.

I'm not optimistic that you'll see the error of your ways, so in lieu of hoping for the impossible, I'll just say that I'm glad society is progressing even though you refuse to move forward. Have fun letting the world pass you by, armywife.

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this post (and excuse me if this is harsh):

It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt . - George Eliot

Uh-oh. I might have goofed up. I thought you were agreeing with Armywife. I think I was so shook up that I may have misinterpreted what you were saying.

And the reason I said I thought you were like her was because a long time ago it seemed like you wanted to be friends until I told you I was a Yankee. I'm probably just being too sensitive, as usual.

If I was wrong about all of that then I apologize. If that is not the way you are then it was horrible of me to assume it. I am really sorry.

Oh, no! Wasn't agreeing at all. I'm a transplant from Va Beach, myself. That's ok -- no hard feelings. We are all guilty of misreading posts -- so hard to interpret print sometimes. I am glad, however, which is what I poorly tried to say (oops) that we are all able to say what we think with relative freedom though we certainly don't all agree! Glad we can do that. And you know what else -- I was so confuse b/c I KNEW we had conversed but hadn't recently. We talked about having kids the same age. I don't mind if you're a "Yankee" -- I love y'alls beans ! ha ha!

Thanks again.

Yes! Freedom of speech is very important! Although, wow, I sure don't agree. I really think this was a phony post from some kid. People are just not that overtly rude around here.

I've been to Crawford Meats in Maynardville and they are just some of the best people. And I know she is not being phony. I can tell. The other customers were just as nice. That post is bogus.

Thank goodness you accepted my apology. I am still really sorry.

Southern hospitality? Yes, that is quite obvious from your post! You got something, but I wouldn't call it hospitality.

How do you know those very same people aren't thinking "God, this place is a dump! I really don't want to be around these people!!!"
