Hi, does anyone know the origin of Redwine Street off Blount Avenue in South Knoxville? I am assuming it was named after a person but don't know. I grew up there and it was a sweet little dead-end street.

I'll bet you and I are the only folks on this board who were aware that Redwine st. exists. Was the metal shop there when you were growing up? They might know but they moved on about a year ago. I don't know of any old timer residents still around. Maybe someone at the church knows.

Default re: REDWINE ST

Yes, I know where it got it's name. It is named after my GG grandfather Rev R.W. Redwine. and actually, the family lived there until the 30's or 40's.

I don't think the original house still there. I will find out about the church, but I'm sure that it's tied in there with it somehow. I might even go to that church one Sunday and find out.
