Just a question from an outsider, why does tennessee never elect a democrat? Hoping for less government? Interested in hearing points of view, constructive points of view that is.

I know that I sure can't speak for all Tennesseans as to why and how they vote. There are some Democrats elected though. I don't want to go any further and get off topic from the Knox County law director. His shenanigans should stay at the forefront of this thread.

Huh? Or do you mean EAST Tennessee? Memphis elects nothing but Democrats, and Democrats have controlled Tennessee's legislature forever until this past election. Tennessee's governor is a Democrat (although he's really more of a DINO in many respects). One of our most popular former governors (Ned McWherter) was a Democrat. But a previous Democrat governor, Ray Blanton, was such an embarrassment that even fellow Democrats voted to remove him from office early so that Lamar Alexander (Republican) could take over.
Actually Knoxville has elected Democrats before. Jake Butcher comes to mind, he used to be mayor of Knoxville and was instrumental in bringing the World's Fair to town in 1982. Then he got caught embezzling from his own bank and went to jail.
Anyway, I'm sorry for taking this thread on a tangent. SMG, I will not be offended if you need to delete this or start a new thread.

What JMT said. Yes, less government would be excellent, considering the long history of shameful "leaders" that have been elected to serve (their own interests). And that crosses party lines, so it's about abuse of power, not political preference.
And, yes, per SMG's original post, let's fire and disbar that charlatan and see if we can't run him off to Florida. Before he goes, he can come weed every constituent's yard as payback. That will ensure that he's truly sorry. I'll be happy to donate the trowel.
